As a living environment teacher, I am able to engage my students with fun experiments and different activities that allow them to learn about all the interesting events in the world around us. However, because of the lack of supplies and our extremely high ELL population I feel limited. I would like the tablets so the students can store their research and download apps that will help translate difficult terms so our ELL students will have a better understanding of exactly what we are doing in our science class. We will use the tablets on our walking trip to the Hudson River, in the classroom to track data, and communicate with others around the world to compare our results. The use of the tablet in our science class is endless. It will be an excellent way for all of our students, especially our ELL students, to become proficient in scientific terminology, communicate with others, and learn about the environment.
