By requesting these novels and magazines, I hope my students will have access to stimulating reading which they are able to read at their level. Too often, students who struggle reading do not have access to low level - high interest texts. Having a class set of SCOPE in my class room will change this! While Seedfolks, the story of a vacant lot, turned into a neighborhood garden, which transforms a neighborhood and it's inhabitants, will resonate with my students dramatically! The story told from the perspective of thirteen different characters, deeply explores how people from all walks of life can come together for the good of a community.
