Vance county is a rural school district with 7.6% unemployment and deals with 28.7% income below the poverty line as compared to 14.3% for the US. 95.2% of Vance County students are on the free lunch program in one of the poorest school districts in America. Technological literacy has become a must have in our society. My dear students need tools in hand to reverse engineer some of the devices they use everyday. The oscilloscope, electronics trouble shooting and repair tool kit, with the magnifier mirror will make excellent workstations for them to expand their understanding with hands on experience. This hands on experience will prepare the students to be career ready and break the cycle of poverty. Our teenagers need someone like you to believe in them and invest in their future. Opening up the mystery of the technology that so consumes them will prepare them for a world ever expanding in technological advances.
