I always find it interesting that we expect children to all sit at chairs and desks but as adults we always have choices. Rarely at a cafe would you see an adult pick a chair and desk sitting arrangement when a big comfy chair is available as well. Comfort and choice is important when a Kindergartener is learning how to be successful in school. The alternative seating arrangements will allow my students to be comfortable while learning which will lead to growth in risk-taking, confidence and independence. They will also help my students develop the important life skill of listening to and trusting their bodies in order to make the best learning choices possible. Once a child discovers how they personally learn best, learning becomes fun and easy.
