Most of my students face many adversities within their home life. However, when they come to school they strive to master the material that is put in front of them with diligence. Every day in our classroom we read, write, and think. That is the expectation that I hold them to and they rise to the challenge. We follow the A.C.T. model and the students desire to read increases because they have 30 minutes of independent reading time every day. Our classroom is also goal oriented. As a class we set reading goals; seeing who can read as much as possible and who is finishing books the most. We also set goals for our other courses because we strive for excellence in everything that we do.
