Motivating students is a powerful part of education. When students are excited about learning the opportunities for success increase. My current students were born in the age of tablets and computers that slide in their pockets. They crave technology and I want to take advantage of that. Accessing books on kindles will give students the opportunity to read more books. Students would feel privileged to hold the tablet in their hand and more motivated to read. With kindles students can work in groups to study and discuss the same novel. I work to have a large classroom library but with kindles there are no limits. I will be able to download educational apps for students to use on the kindles as well. Reviewing content with apps that allow students to respond to questions with the touch of a button motivates them and participation levels increase.
