Students will read the book "Wonder" and participate in class discussions about the book. We will relate things happening in Auggie's life to items that are happening in our school. We will address the difference between being right and being kind. The goal is for the students to realize that growing up is tough, but if you think about your actions and follow the golden rule, you will make good choices. This book highlights the struggles of many adolescents and their behaviors towards classmates. Students will focus on how to overcome peer pressure and judging a person by who they are, not what they look like.
