Flexible seating is great for students with special needs to be able to be focused and engaged while learning, giving them the ability to move while sitting in collaborative learning groups, whole group, and in reading groups. Exercise balls are great for students that need to constantly move and bounce. Students love sitting on these balls while sitting in small groups at the tables. Bean bag chairs give students a chance to feel secure in groups, due to the way the chairs fit to their bodies. The wobbly stools are great for computer stations and during collaborative learning group time; they give students the ability to move, but not move to the point that they are distracting others. The seating I am asking for will be used at my Kidney Bean table, library center, at the computers, collaborative learning groups and for whole group learning in front of the classroom. Studies have shown that flexible seating has improved the success of students, and I am always looking for ways to help my students be successful.
