I am the reading specialist at Albuquerque School of Excellence, a STEAM charter school. I work with students in grades 2-8 who need extra help with their reading comprehension and fluency. Our school serves a diverse ethnic population with a large number of students for whom English is not their first language. This project will enable me to differentiate reading instruction for the students who need it most. I will use a combination of computer-based individualized reading intervention programs with direct instruction on skills to help students succeed.
