The supplies I am requesting will be used in my classroom to allow my students to customize their learning experience. Most of our school has adopted Chromebooks and Google's student learning system, Classroom, to help streamline learning. We are able to put lessons on the computer for students to access during class or at home. The problem is, our outdated printer/copier doesn't allow the Chromebooks to print. Some students still prefer or need to have a piece of paper in their hands to read or write on rather than a glaring computer screen that can cause eye strain or confusion. The printer and ink will allow the students who need a printed text to make that decision for themselves without wasting paper and ink for those who are comfortable with the computer presentation of material. The book I am requesting is a teacher resource to help bring a depth of thinking in curriculum that is not present in the old, outdated textbooks and resources I have.
