During class, my level one ESOL students would be able to use these tablets to translate what I am saying in English to Haitian Creole. They would also be able to use them as visual aids to help them learn both the English language and the practices and concepts of science. Currently, my ESOL students are lost and frustrated. As hard as I try to show them pictures/videos/visuals, they do not speak any English yet; therefore, they can only understand minimally. As they learn, class will become easier for them. For now, they need resources. I am doing my best to learn words and phrases in Creole because I believe that if my students are working diligently to learn English, I can do my best to meet them in the middle. These tablets will also help them collaborate with their classmates more easily.
