Placing important pieces of literature in our students' hands is critical. In English, we want to ensure that students are not only meeting their reading goals but that they are accessing books that reinforce our message of the impact that each person can have on the world. Macbeth and Of Mice and Men are both literary classics that will engage and excite our students, exposing them to essential characters, motifs, and themes that they will see in contemporary culture as well. As a new school, we need to purchase all materials for the first time. We want to ensure that even with a limited budget we are able to provide kids with the same experience they would have if they were attending a fully grown school. Providing each student with their own copy of Macbeth and Of Mice and Men ensures that they can enjoy the book more fully and at their own pace.
