During our Reading Workshop time, we love talking about and sharing new books as a whole class on the carpet. Books take our imagination to exciting new places. Students have the opportunity to read a book independently or with a buddy in a quiet spot around the room. To practice foundational skills, students engage in various literacy centers. Each center focuses on specific target skills in Phonics, writing, reading comprehension and vocabulary building. I would like to give my students other avenues to explore books that may not be available to them in the classroom. A set of Kindle Fires would be great to add to a literacy center where students can have access to books online through reading programs we use in our school such as Epic and RazKids. This will allow my students to continue to build on their reading skills. Your donations would greatly help my students reach their literacy goals and become confident readers. We would be so thrilled to have these technology tools in our classroom! Thank you so much!
