My kindergarten bilingual students are amazing tiny people bursting with energy and excitement! All are Spanish speaking, many learning English as a second language. The majority of my precious kiddos are from low income families and many are immigrants. Students come into my classroom from so many backgrounds and experiences. Some have never stepped foot in an educational setting before, some have extreme anxiety, some have never used a pencil, cannot name a letter or number in any language. From day 1 there is a LOT of work to do and I'm lucky to be the one to help lead them on their way! While many students are lacking in vocabulary development, this does not hold them back. My students are inquisitive, curious, adventurous and already full of so much valuable information and unique experiences that can teach me as a teacher and peers so much about life and working together!
