Having so many seating options will greatly improve my students' experience this year. I, for one, do not enjoy sitting at a desk all day, so why should my first graders? Being able to kick a seat band and move without distracting others will be so helpful for some of my students. Sitting on a stool instead of a chair makes it impossible to lean back and zone out. These are just a few ways these new seating options will benefit my students. During independent work time students in my class will have something everyone loves, choice! Not only will they be able to choose the location in which they sit, but the kind of seat. Not everyone is the same. We all learn in different ways, in a different amount of time, and now my kids will have a place to sit in our classroom that is as unique as they are.
