I have students who finish their required work quickly and need something to do that will stimulate their mind while the rest of the class finishes their work. I have chosen games that will help to improve phonics skills while having fun at the same time. I have also chosen maps of the united states puzzles to help students learn about the states and where they are. This will help with their Social Studies skills. I have found through my 27 years of teaching that hands-on learning activities help to increase knowledge and they enjoy doing these activities with other students or on their own. I also hope students who tend to work very slowly will be motivated to finish required work and have time to participate in these activities. The reuseable wipe and write folders will be used for a daily math fact practice to help students learn and memorize math facts. This will help them be more successful as they learn more difficult math in the future because they will have math facts memorized and will not have to figure out each math fact. I have some activities for this purpose but have found that the students get bored with the same activities and are tired of the items I have available and would love some new options
