While technology is quickly becoming the norm in many schools, we need to still be mindful that many students do not have access to computers and printers at home. While teachers are embracing technology in the classroom, we must remember some projects are tangible and involve printing and using paper. Many of our middle school students love to create visually appealing projects. For example, our 7th grade Science students are currently creating "Biome In A Box" projects. While some parents purchase supplies for this project, others simply do not have the extra money for this optional expense. We want our Media Center to be able to provide printing capabilities for those students who may feel like they don't have a naturally creative side to produce a "pretty" product. This project will help narrow the playing field for all of our students.
