I just moved into a room where the carpet has permanent stains and I have noticed my students do not want to get comfy on the floor and enjoy a book. This stained carpet is interfering with their independent reading time. As their reading teacher, I need a space where they want to come and read. If we have a new, clean carpet, I know my students will jump at the chance to lay down or snuggle up and read a book. My goal is to make my classroom as welcoming and comfortable as possible so my students can focus on their book rather than the stains on the floor.
