Having non-fiction text or articles presented in a reader friendly format by Scholastic News for my second grade students to use during both whole and small group instruction would be a beneficial and rewarding opportunity for my community of S.T.A.R.S(Students Taking Academic Responsibility Successfully)! My students spend time learning both fiction and non-fiction text features. The students could best benefit from practicing text feature identification from the monthly use of a Scholastic News article subscription.
