Having chapter books available in Spanish will help my students get hook into reading. The transition to 3rd grade will be smoother and their reading skills will go up to a level where they will easily ace the STAAR Test. Having sets of chapter books in Spanish will also facilitate whole group reading discussion groups, and small group instruction. Chapter books will also inspire my students to become writers. My student will be able to make personal connections to the stories read, and they will start to write their own stories. The chapter books in their native language will become their mentor texts to succeed as readers and writers.

About my class
