Many of my students come from low-income homes, and I want to ensure that families don't have to make the choice between a meal or their child's education. The pens, pencils, markers and colored pencils will be used in the classroom as an integral part of daily activities and projects. As a Social Studies teacher, having the necessary supplies, such as a globe, make it easier for students to understand basic concepts that are the building blocks to higher learning. In my classroom, I want to make certain that my students have what they need to be successful. A student's education should never be hindered by something as small as a lack of a pencil. These supplies would allow my students to have what is needed to reach their highest potential.
