As the world continues to become increasingly more tech savvy, students need to become tech savvy as well. If we can use technology as a way to make education exciting for them, they will be motivated to learn even more. By getting some Chromebooks for my students, they will be able to use technology right in my classroom, for so many topics and projects! Students will use them for research. They will use them as they learn friendly letter writing, and for writing in paragraphs as they learn to become great opinion writers, and informational writers, as well as exploring other creative types of writing. We have reading, phonics, and math programs that enhance what we are teaching in the classroom. We use programs like ALEKS, Prodigy, Kidsa-z and many others. Students will also be able to type their writing projects in the classroom, using google docs. Students are tested in writing, using an online system, so they need to become proficient keyboarders as well, as learning other core subjects. If students have tablets, accessible to them on a daily basis, they will surely become more and more efficient at using technology as a learning tool.
