The HP softball team needs basic softball equipment in order to move forward as a team and be able to compete with other teams. Many teams around the Topeka area come to their high school team with their own equipment (bats, gloves, cleats, etc.). Due to the high poverty in our school area, a lot of our players come with no equipment of their own. Thus, leaving the coaches to scramble and find used equipment to meet our players needs. This donation will give students in a high poverty area the chance to compete and have school pride with their school softball team. Our players are dedicated to learning the sport and participating in a positive after school sport. This will fund both the junior varsity and varsity team. This fund is requesting assistance with buying two bats for each team which would allow the teams to have the basic equipment. Also, five gloves have been requested in order to have for the players that do not have their own glove as in years past the players have been using very old, hand me down gloves.
