My project includes transforming my classroom to a flexible learning space. Flexible learning spaces have been proven to increase student learning by allowing for more movement and choice in the classroom, thus increasing student motivation, engagement, focus, and ultimately academic success. Often, high ability students have increased anxiety because they are intrinsically driven to succeed. Having some alternative seating (hokki stools, a rug and beanbag seats) for them that allows them to move will help alleviate their anxiety and promote a stress free environment in which to learn. Flexible seating also allows for more collaboration and creativity during our school day. Today's learners thrive in this type of learning atmosphere.
