The project that I would love to use on a daily basis in my classroom is Accelerated Math. The students love to work out different problems that are created by using Accelerated Math because it helps students learn to think critically, like mathematicians, in order to master math. Accelerated Math keeps students working and thinking all class period. My students work at different paces and having a printer in my classroom would allow my students the opportunity to work and solve math problems at their own pace, which allows me to differentiate instruction by allowing the students to work as fast as I can print out more problems for them in the classroom. Currently my students have to wait once or twice per week to print Accelerated Math assignments. We have 22 teachers on the hall that have to share one printer. With the lack of technology in the school this makes it hard for us to challenge our students because we are limited to printing so many copies per week and are not allowed to replenish the toner cartridges but once per month. Accelerated Math gives students the opportunity for reflection and collaboration which allows for deeper understanding of math skills. That's why we are in need of a printer and toner cartridges to keep up with the pace of our students, since they learn and move at different levels.
