Welcome to my classroom donors choose page. I am trying to raise money to purchase books the students are interested in and will be engaged in so that I can get them excited about reading. Many of my students have requested to read specific books that I do not have class sets for. I am so happy they are requesting to read because many of them state they hate reading or hate English class. These books will help me to engage them and make connections between their lives and interests to works of literature. This year, we are focusing on themes such as how and if the American dream still exists, stereotyping, and coming of age. I am trying to get them to understand there is no "right or wrong" answer, but simply that I want them to think in order to better educate themselves to be productive citizens in society. These books will be a huge part in helping me achieve this goal.
