This year I am introducing a "Genius Hour" into my curriculum. I am working to give my students the time, structure and space and they need to pursue their interests and passions, both individually and in groups. The addition of 6 beanbag chairs to our 2nd grade classroom will allow my students to leave their desks and tables behind and create their own work/learning spaces in different areas of the classroom. Beanbag chairs in my classroom will not only allow for student movement and flexible grouping but will increase their involvement and engagement as well. I am so excited to allow my students to take charge of their own learning and consider every place in our classroom as a possible learning space.
