My classroom is a literacy rich room with shelves of books ready and waiting for my classroom. Unfortunately, I have a wide range of student needs that need to be met, and I'd like to implement stations into my day. This includes a listening station where my ELL students can have the opportunity to listen to a reader, and therefore build their fluency and comprehension skills. Research has shown that literacy stations are needed in order to focus on the important aspects of reading which these items would help me implement. I am a first year teacher, and want to make this a successful year for my students by implementing a love of reading. A classroom rug would help with my classroom management during read-alouds, while the bean bags would give my students a relaxing moment during their sometimes hectic days. I have the unique opportunity to teach the entire third grade class during our literacy block, and therefore need these materials to help my classroom run smoothly.
