Students complain on a daily basis about their desks. I hear, "Ouch, my hair got stuck," or, "Ms. M, the chair bit my shirt!" The backs of many of our student desks have cracked, and as hair, uniforms, and jackets get stuck, these cracks gets larger. Some of the screws are loose, and once again hair gets caught around them. Some screws keep falling out even when replaced. It is time to solve this problem! I have carefully chosen new desks that do not have these same issues like screws on the backs that cause problems. Replacing these damaged desks would greatly help our students and our school. Having new desks will make students sit more comfortably without fear of ruining their clothing or pulling out their hair. This will facilitate greater focus on their work.
