Imagine for a moment a classroom without a whiteboard. It's not a pretty or efficient site. A quintessential aspect of a safe chemistry lab for new students is the ability to display specific safety precautions to a class before they begin their lab work. With a portable white board, I am able to move information from the class setting to the lab setting in a flash. Alongside the portable white board, laminated periodic tables serve a dual purpose to students. They allow students to bring their materials to a wet lab without getting damaged and they also serve as their own personal dry erase board when they are not in the lab. The main goal in a chemistry lab is to allow students a hands on learning environment which is both safe and productive. A whiteboard and laminated periodic tables allow the students to be more focused and prepared in both the classroom and the lab setting. For the variety of learners in my classroom, these could be 2 vital assets to improve their learning environment.
