My class of 26 fifth grade boys are ready to read, but due to limited resources at a second year charter school, they are unable to get their hands on some great and exciting books. Our school does not have a working library so the only books they are able to check out and take home are the ones provided by me. I am only a second year teacher so my classroom library is still in the process of growing. These books would enable my students' growing minds to exercise reading comprehension skills and accelerate reading growth levels. In turn these reading skills will allow them to exercise success in other academic classes. If you cannot read you cannot learn!
