I am requesting these basic supplies in our classroom so that we can take our love of reading beyond the pages of the books we read. The supplies will allow students to create project and engage in activites about the books we read to help them build critical thinking skills and build in depth knowledge about whatever theme, skill or topic our focus may be. Bringing in these basic supplies to my class room will also help my students see how important reading and engagement beyond reading applies to the world around them. I want my students to all develop not just a love of reading but also a love of engaging their minds to think beyond a text and allowing that knowledge to help them navigate efficiently through school and life.
