Currently, our classroom is home to 3 desktop computers and 2 iPads. We need 2 more pieces of technology to make it possible for each student to have access to the Internet at least once a day for 20 minutes. As it stands now, students only have access every other day. The low ratio of technology to students severely limits their access to valuable resources on the Web. Students today need more and more exposure to technology to prepare them to be productive citizens in our ever changing 21st century world. We use the technology in our classroom everyday to access sites with kid-friendly research, ebooks to practice reading, and fabulous learning sites that make practicing standards feel like play! My students also use a variety of educational apps to publish their work digitally. They are not only becoming masters with a paper and pencil but also becoming very tech savvy.
