My reading center does not have inviting chairs for reading. The comfortable couch and chairs I have ordered will be very inviting for the children to read to themselves or someone else. This will motivate students to read more because they will feel more comfortable while reading their books. This area will be used as a reading center during guided reading. I would also like to create an independent reading area with the wireless headphones. My child with autism needs assorted sensory materials to help calm himself. I plan on using the colored sand and water marbles with my student during his daily sensory breaks. This will help my student with special needs to stay calmer throughout the day. All the sensory items, including the assorted sensory balls, will be in tubs and available all day. This area will help his inclusion program be more successful.
