Many of the students in my classroom struggle with sitting still and staying on task, so in my classroom I have flexible seating and try to find hands-on activities to keep them engaged. Quite a few of my students come from low income families and do not always receive the help they need from home. I believe in each of my students and want to create an engaging, safe environment for my students, as they might not have that at home. They are a great group of kiddos with big hearts and are always trying to help each other. They can perform at a higher level and can focus more when they are actively engaged, so finding the resources to make them successful is something that I continue to look for everyday.
