I am a special needs teacher with my own special need. I am legally blind. I have students who have various other "impairments." I truly do not like to use that word because it has a negative connotation. My students are gifted in so many other ways. My mission is to teach these children, all from impoverished families, that they can become meaningful members of society. With an extra large monitor, myself and my visually impaired students will be able to see so much better. I have tried using a large magnifying glass attached to the monitor. However, it distorts the picture. In addition, with an iPad and headphones, I can allow my students to learn how to manipulate an iPad and learn important Pre-K skills like alphabet and number recognition.
