As curious as my 4th graders are about the world around them, what really enhances the science lessons is doing hands on activities about things that they see going on in their own home communities. Teaching Native Hawaiians through their own language in a Hawaiian medium education environment seriously limits the amount of resources readily available to us. The various science experiments will greatly help to expose my students to seeing firsthand the effects of climate change upon us. Combining these science resources with the Cricut maker will allow them to express themselves creatively in a way that will impact their lives.
