Students will be able to use the hand drums to create rhythms to go with songs, marches, stories, chants, and more! Using drums, they can move throughout a space keeping the beat with their bodies, and their instruments. This increases rhythmic accuracy and learning! Using the Orff instruments, students learn how to play mallet percussion and perform as a group. They can compose songs, read written music and play at the same time, and create orchestrations! Anything is possible. Students especially love creating orchestrations to go with stories. They can even sing and play at the same time! The curriculum I use has several lessons which require these instruments, and having enough instruments is critical for delivering these lessons well.
