Throughout the school day, I try to reach each student's physical, social, and emotional needs. When students have a serious case of the wiggles, much energy is spent trying to control their body. Learning may not be occurring due to this need to move. Incorporating exercise and movement throughout the school day makes students less fidgety and more focused on learning. Studies have shown that movement improves on-task behavior and reduces classroom management challenges. By using standing desks, students will be able to stand and work while moving. The students will be able to rotate through the standing desks as needed.
