We do a lot of thinking in math. We write ideas down, we make mistakes, and we revise our thinking. This requires students to learn from each other and be able to see how others are thinking about solving a problem. My current classroom only has one chalk board. These white boards will not only brighten up the classroom, it will allow for all students to see the math we are learning and reference the thinking their classmates and myself are sharing with them. The graphing notebooks will help students with organization and clarity. They will keep their thinking organized and neat.
