Third graders are under a lot of pressure to be fluent and competent readers. Some students have to overcome many barriers in their reading and are sometimes not on grade level. This causes them to have a disinterest in books, and therefore dislike reading. By having our own classroom library, my students will be able to find more joy in their reading with a variety of books at their own finger tips. Since these books are leveled, students will be able to find books that will fit there reading needs, which in turn will help them become more confident readers.
