The students that I teach come from low socio-economic backgrounds. The majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. One of the courses that I teach is Education for Careers. The course is designed to assist students with obtaining skills that are needed through out life. They learn to make meaningful decisions about their careers and life choices. Students will be prepared to determine their personal weaknesses as they relate to career from school to work. Students will have the opportunity to meet career practitioners, conduct career research as well as other opportunities as they present themselves. The second course that I teach is GEE Social Studies. This course covers all of the Social Studies disciplines. This courses prepares students for our states high stakes test that they need to graduate. A lot of projects and manipulative's are involved. This reinforces what the students learn.
