As the school social worker, this year my goal is to help students be successful in their classroom setting. In order to reach each student as a unique individual, I need a variety of ways to connect with them. The laptops will helps students by connecting with them using technology. There are many interactive games, activities, and websites available for children to learn to appropriately express their feelings and emotions. The sand table and sand is a therapeutic intervention used to connect with children who are having a difficult time expressing emotions verbally. The exercise balls will help children release some of their energy in an appropriate manner so they are less disruptive in the classroom. The books are a great way to connect with children in both individual and group settings. Hearing stories about other children having similar problems helps children feel they aren't alone.
