Students will each be receiving a board, set of tiles, and a marker. During distance learning, students will be able to use these hands-on tools to show letter and sound knowledge. When I say a letter or sound, each kid will hold it up. This will be much more effective than 24 5-year-olds yelling out the answer. In addition, at this point in the year, students are starting to build words. They will be able to build words on their board as I build it on the tabletop easel facing the camera. This will truly benefit them, as they will be doing the thinking and building individually instead of just watching me write it on a board. They can then practice writing dictated phases and sentences as they are ready to progress in their reading and writing skill.
