With art class, each project takes a certain amount of demonstrating techniques. The students have to take time out of class to transition to view demonstrations because they cannot see from their seats. It takes at least four to five minutes to get all the students up and situated around my table. Then another four to five minutes to get them seated and back on task. That is 8-10 minutes of class time wasted. With a document camera, I am able to demonstrate the techniques for everyone to see on the projector at a click of a button in a matter of seconds. This will allow my students so much more time creating their projects. I do at least three demonstrations a week. That is an extra 30 minutes a week they can spend learning.
