I teach science for 4th and 5th grade in Texas, at a low-income community school. I have students who range from special education to gifted, with many who are below grade level in their academics. My students generally come to me with little to no life experiences, outside of our little town, which makes teaching science difficult at times, since they don't have prior experiences in which to base their knowledge.
