I am SUPER excited about beginning this new style of reading workshop. My students will have areas in the classroom to kick back, relax and enjoy reading, which is something they don't often get to do and don't have many examples of. Research shows students need to be engaged in reading and practice reading to get better at reading. Traditional chairs and desks currently fill my classroom. I want to transform our space into an inviting place to read with cozy reading nooks throughout the room. These wobble chairs, exercise balls, floor pillows and rugs would give my students so many opportunities and spaces to dive into a book!
