Informal argumentation is a subject that many high school students feel very comfortable with. However, when it comes to writing their own formal arguments, students, even at the AP level, can often struggle. I am requesting a class set of the books Thank You For Arguing so that my students will have expanded access to helpful information about argumentation. Students will be able to use these books in class to supplement their learning. Also, this book puts difficult concepts related to argumentation (like logos, pathos, and ethos) in terms that teenagers can easily understand. This class set of books will enhance and expand my students' understanding and use of argumentation in an academic setting. This book also includes practice activities and suggestions for using argumentation in real world situations that will help put these topics in perspective for them.
