When asked what their favorite part of the school day is, many of my students will say recess. But, often times, there aren't enough soccer balls or the jump ropes are too short to play with. We have been told the PE department will no longer supply us with playground supplies. My students asked if I could get a few new balls, activity mats and a couple of longer jump ropes. We watched a video about being fit, which included some children using pogo sticks. They wanted to know if I could get one for our class! They love to do physical activities during indoor recess, such as movement songs. I have an old Greg and Steve movement CD that is one of their favorites. Another one would be great! Having these extra supplies will help keep them fit and happy, and give them options during recess, whether we are inside or outside.
