Students will be able to choose from several different activities that teachers choose to offer. Some of which include: Lotion & Potions where students will apply math measurement skills to learn about essential oils and usage . Students will use ratios and proportional reasoning to mix and package lotions, roller bottles and scrubs. Also, Tie Dyeing where students will apply math skills of patterns, measurement and proportional reasoning to mix dye and create patterns when tie dyeing. Or Cooking where students will again use math skills and proportional reasoning to cook and manipulate simple recipes that they will share with their families. Students will also have the opportunity to also work with different paint mediums on canvases and in journals. They will need to apply math skills of proportional reasoning when working with different paints. Students who work hard and follow our school's expectations should be rewarded. Students always look forward to our Reward Day offerings as well! Many of these offerings are student driven, and our staff steps up to the challenge of meeting the outside interests of our kids. All of these activities incorporate measuring, mixing, reading and working together to be successful. Math skills and life skills in the real world often need reinforcement in the classroom and these activities help us reach students on several different levels.
